Maths:
 
We have found in class, that we need a bit more practise at column addition, especially when taking the information out of a word problem. Can you have a go at the attached questions? Think carefully about the information and what you need to do with it. Present each calculation in the column method.
 
Extension: Can you write an addition problem for me to solve? (make sure you know the answer though!)
 
English:
We are going to be carrying on with our story from yesterday as we spent a good amount of time thinking carefully about our ideas and sentence quality. Carry on with yours, or if you have finished, check back, and choose your best sentence and one that might be improved. What makes your best sentence the best and what can you do to improve the other?
 
Quiet reading after lunch – you know the drill.
 
Computing: 
 
In class we are going to be learning a bit more about networks and servers which would be tricky to explain to you at home.

Maths – Have a look at the PowerPoint (remember to view it in display mode to see all the example graphics on each slide) where you will see how we can use the parts of an addition/subtraction to check answers. then, have a go at the attached questions sheet.
 
After lunch, after some reading, time for some seasonal art.
 
Have a look at the instruction sheet and the examples and enjoy experimenting.

MONDAY
‘Morning Task / Focuser’ – Can you design a pumpkin face? Make it as monstrous or cute as you want.
 
Maths – Please complete the attached end of block questions for your year group (this should take no longer than 20 mins). Parents/Carers, there is an answer sheet included. 
After completing this then take a bit of time to go through your times tables. Can you write out the division facts as a challenge?
 
English – spellings time! Ask an adult to read out ten of the words from your spellings list and then check them together. Let me know how many you got. Look at the spellings list for your group for this week, included. Read each of the words out loud, use a dictionary to check the meaning of any words you are not sure of and then choose five of the words to write out in to sentences. You should end up with five sentences, one for each word.
 
After lunch take 20 minutes to have a quiet read, either to yourself, to an adult or even to a cuddly toy!
 
RSE – please see the attached lesson information sheet.
 
PE – Monday afternoon is one of our PER sessions – you could have a go at practising some of you controlled movements we have been working on, do some yoga or have a go at a Joe Wicks workout. It is up to you but get active for at least half an hour!
