At Slingsby Community Primary School, we are committed to helping do our part in tackling climate change.
As well as participating in the Eco Schools award program, we have developed our own Climate Action Plan which looks at all areas of school life and highlights ways in which we can make changes to our environment, ways of working and subject knowledge that we teach in order to make a difference. On our plan, we have also celebrated things that we already do here at Slingsby that help both our local environment and the wider world.
The DfE has asked all schools to have in place a Climate Action Plan and Climate lead by the end of 2025. A Climate Action Plan is a way to guide schools towards sustainability in a way that is unique and manageable for each individual school. This forms part of the Governments bigger Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy.
